Leon Lynch

Leon Lynch studied art in Sligo RTC and the Crawford College of Art, Cork,majoring in ceramic sculpture. His recent work is mainly confined to functional and semi-functional ceramic bowls and vessels. Although most of L e o n ’s work is thrown, it is often reshaped and assembled to make ever changing shapes.
As well as conventional pots, Leon works in Raku, an ancient method of firing where pots are glaze fired to 1000o centigrade before being quickly removed from the kiln to a reduction chamber where the distinct variations of colour associated with Raku occur.
